Texas Windstorm Insurance Association

Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) and Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA) are increasing their rosters of temporary property claims supervisors. These temporary supervisors will be used to supervise claim files and loss adjustments presented by independent adjusters after a catastrophic event (i.e. hurricane, hailstorm, tornado, etc.). The supervisors are paid an hourly rate based on the prevailing rates at the time of employment, plus expenses. The length of employment could be as little as one day of training per year or as much as a full year or more depending on the event. To qualify, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Extensive experience in handling and supervising property claims (in the field and in the office), commercial and residential
• Be able to attend one or more annual meetings at TWIA (training sessions)
• Be able to work when called soon after a catastrophic event
• Be able to work in Austin or a remote site in Texas (i.e. the Gulf Coast, Houston, Dallas)
• Be experienced in handling windstorm and hail losses
• Experience in 1st Party (multi-peril) and 3rd Party claims under an HOA policy is a big plus
• Computer skills, Microsoft Word

Generally, our current list contains retired claims professionals with many years experience and who want to work occasionally.
