As of Friday, November 30, the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season was officially over. We are thankful the Texas coast experienced no major weather events or hurricanes, and for the opportunity to serve our TWIA policyholders.
Although the season has drawn to a close, weather emergencies can strike at any time – and there is no better time to prepare for one than the present. Visit our hurricane preparedness page for information on coastal building codes and TWIA eligibility, how to file a claim with TWIA, and steps to prioritize repairs after a storm. Another excellent resource is this post, which outlines the major steps you can take to protect yourself, your family, and your property in advance of a hurricane.
We will continue to work diligently to ensure TWIA policyholders, agents, and staff are prepared for the next hurricane season, which begins each year on June 1.
