Postponed: TWIA Legislative and External Affairs Committee to Meet

UPDATE: The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) has postponed the virtual meeting of its Legislative and External Affairs Committee for 30 days.

The Legislative and External Affairs Committee of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s (TWIA) Board of Directors will meet via teleconference/webconference at 11:00 a.m. on April 9, 2020. The meeting agenda is available on TWIA’s website.

The Committee will develop recommendations to TWIA’s Board of Directors regarding content of a report to the Texas Legislature that is required by statute. The report must include: any proposed changes in the laws relating to regulation of TWIA and a statement of the reasons for the changes; and any information regarding TWIA operations or procedures that is requested by the Texas Department of Insurance to be addressed in the report.

Meetings of the Legislative and External Affairs Committee do not include public comment. In accordance with Governor Abbott’s directive suspending certain statutory provisions relating to open meetings and requiring certain actions of the boards of governmental bodies, this meeting may be conducted entirely by telephone conference call.
