TWIA Request for Proposals for Catastrophe Modeling Services

The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) is requesting proposals from qualified consultants or firms to oversee its catastrophe modeling process.

The selected respondent will provide catastrophe modeling expertise related to the TWIA Board of Directors’ statutorily required determination of the Association’s 1-in-100-year probable maximum loss (PML) for each hurricane season and reinsurance purchase decision. This includes identification and incorporation of accurate exposure information in the execution of catastrophe models and the presentation and interpretation of modeling results.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued on December 16 and is available on TWIA’s website, www.twia.org. TWIA will accept written questions on the RFP through December 29 and will post responses to its website by January 5. Further details on requirements, process, and contact information are included in the RFP.

The deadline for submission of proposals is January 12, 2022.
