Agent Advisory Group

At the direction of the Board of Directors, TWIA established an Agent Advisory Group (AAG) to assist in accomplishing the Association’s mission to efficiently provide essential property insurance products and services for eligible Texas policyholders when no one else will. The AAG consists of nine agents appointed by the TWIA General Manager. Members constitute a representative cross-section of the TWIA agent community, including agency size, type and geographic location. AAG participation is voluntary and unpaid.

The AAG serves as a forum for the exchange of information. It is a workgroup charged with working to foster open and transparent communications, and:

  • Facilitate effective communications between TWIA staff, agents and policyholders
  • Develop a clear understanding of agent & policyholder perspectives on mutually important issues
  • Provide agents with advance notice of major initiatives affecting agents and policyholders and opportunities to discuss before, during and after implementation
  • Create a forum to gather agent input to assist TWIA staff in making fully informed decisions as well as program modifications to enhance mutual success
  • Solicit ideas that can help TWIA staff fulfill its mission to policyholders as cost effectively as possible
