What We Do
The Texas Legislature established the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) and the Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA) as not-for-profit residual market insurers to serve as safety nets in Texas’ property insurance marketplace.
While TWIA and TFPA play a relatively small role in the broader insurance market, they are essential to the stability and resilience of Texas communities. The Association’s coverage provides vital protection for policyholders who cannot secure insurance elsewhere, helping safeguard their financial and property well-being.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide reliable and accessible property
insurance that protects Texans when they need it most.
