Premium Financing Will No Longer Be Accepted
Published on: September 17, 2025Attention agents: As mentioned in an earlier bulletin sent on August 10, the Texas Legislature has passed a law that prohibits the use of premium financing arrangements for Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) policies issued or renewed effective January 1, 2026. The premium financing option will no longer be available in our system after October 8, 2025.
Next week, we are mailing a notification to policyholders who currently utilize premium financing. Please work with those policyholders to select a TWIA plan when their policies renew. We will also be notifying premium finance companies of the change directly.
TWIA provides payment plans at no cost, including TWIA Full Pay, TWIA 2 Pay, TWIA 4 Pay, and TWIA 10 Pay. Here is a snapshot of those plans:
